congress okays more antiterrorism funds this article on cbsnews.com pens how congress has sent the president a $28.9 billion [say it like dr.evil, "beellion"] "counterterrorism package" which the senate approved 92-7, and the house, 397-32. the funds will be divied between groups for defense and intelligence, aviation safety, random domestic security programs, new york in general, and foreign aid [yeah, foreign aid]. apparantly everybody loves it. white house budget spokesman Trent Duffy says this "is a victory for the president and for taxpayers". question: how is paying an additional $28.9 billion dollars worth of handouts to various government agencies, who couldn't protect us in the first place with the billions they already had, a victory for me, the taxpayer? anybody have an answer? |
