fried vegetables and network updates
there's a particular individual at my company whom i care for about as deeply as i care for fried okra. partly because he's dumb, partly because he's clueless, but mostly because i am forced to interact with his cluelessness and his dumbness [well, it's a word now] on a regular basis. this is highly unpleasant. most of our conversations go something like this:
him: so how are the updates going?
me: what updates?
him: the updates you were working on for the network.
me: i wasn't working on any network updates.
him: oh...[awkward pause for lack of new subject]...great then.
this is usually followed by me turning away from him back toward my screen, and him standing there silent for a few minutes until he realizes that our conversation has ended, whereupon he leaves.
