my heroes are apparantly u.s. government agents
has anybody besides me noticed the ever-growing throng of prime time televisions shows based around u.s. government agencies? of course there's always been the "cops" type shows, but there's more of them now. there's also the cia series (there's at least two of those), a whole herd of phorensics crime shows, and several other nameless "agency doing good in secret" shows. increasingly our hero is no longer the stranger, the misguided thief, the renegade wanderer, or the random good samaritan. now he's the cop, the instant government agent [just add water], the patriotic do-gooder, the mystery-solving girl in a white coat with a scalpal. it makes me wonder. why do we suddenly find ourselves taking in all these "uncle sam is your friend" shows? are we being geared up for something? maybe i'm just a paranoid freek, but i've definitely noticed a shift.
