porn site operator infiltrates al qaeda site
porn site operator Jon Messner obtained ownership of an alleged al qaeda site [www.alneda.com] using a program that probes domains whose registrations are about to lapse. after obtaining functional ownership of the site, he quickly reposted al qaeda-related material from the former site to create the image that it was still functional [even though some of the features were not yet working, users were already posting on various message threads, "praise allah, the alneda site is back up".]. he then contacted the fbi, and offered the site to them as a potential conduit for disinformation, or to collect data about it's visitors. however, after a week, the fbi still could not locate within its own ranks any personnel competent enough to prepare the sting or write the arabic articles to be used. soon after, the site was exposed as a decoy and shut down. the fbi officially "neither confirms nor denies" working with messner [of course]. my point is this: how can the fbi [and countless other usg agencies], who have so fervently increased what they call "security" in so many areas that can't be even remotely construed as al qaeda- or terrorist-related [and yet they continue their crusade], be so gung ho about their "war on terror", and yet be so inept when it comes to something that might actually prove beneficial in their pursuit? i don't know. here's the article.
