hacking china's television members of Falun Gong, a spiritual movement [or "gang" depending on the source] outlawed in China in 1999, have been taking over various television broadcast signals in several cities in China - some that include a 60-mile broadcast radius, and at least one that's a state-run satellite signal [hahaha]. they only manage to get their videos out for brief periods, but still, well done, guys. stick it to the man. i have no idea what they're about, except what i've read in this and other articles, but their "disruptive" and "anti-social" videos seem to consist [at least partially] of people standing around doing calisthenics while chinese music plays in the background. whoa! we can't have that. chinese officials remain anonymous or flat out deny everything. in a related article, baoding [chinese] police were quoted as saying, "such things could never have happened here. pshaw!" [okay, i added the pshaw]. the chinese government calls the group an "evil cult" and various other things, but more they remind me of razor and blade. for the un-elite, if you don't know who razor and blade are, go rent the movie "hackers". |
