more on the illusion of safety
an article on cbsnews.com reports on the senate debate regarding the new homeland security department. the tagline for the article is a quote by sen. Joseph Lieberman, "if we marshal these strengths of ours, we can make another sept. 11-type attack impossible." newsflash: you can't make yourself invulnerable to attack. there will always be weaknesses. not only that, but i've yet to see *anything* that's been done so far that could have prevented or even encumbered the 9/11 attack. the masses do not seem to have grasped this concept. none of this is about safeguarding the american populus. it's only about the domination of the weak by way of fear-mongering. "here, you give me the keys to your house, and i'll make sure that no one gets in. hehe."

he also said that this measure is "the single most important thing we can do now" in building better defenses against terrorism *within* u.s. borders. hey, senator, do you define strip-searching and body-cavity-searching 90 year old women in an airport employee break room [cuz that happened] as building better defenses against terrorism? fuck you, senator. that *is* terrorism. and fuck everything you stand for. fuck all of you who tell the american public that giving up their personal freedoms and privacy is a way to protect those freedoms and that privacy. fuck all of you who swear to protect us while actually doing nothing tangible toward that end. fuck you, mediawhores, who, under the guise of patriotism, jump on any story that invokes fear only to continue projecting that my government wants to defend and protect me. fuck you who shuts down airports and arrests people on federal charges of terrorism for running to catch a flight. and fuck every single one of you congressional bastards for nurturing, milking, and feeding off of this terrorism boogey-man only so that you can get more money for some program that does nothing to resolve any real situation other than to make up for what you lack as an individual, ya fucking dickless vultures.
