sci fi picks up firefly
what better way to kick off the new posts than any info about firefly. the sci fi channel has announced that it will begin airing the firefly series on july 22nd in the friday night 7pm slot. they'll also be airing it in the original order beginning with the pilot [so kiss my ass fox. you never deserved it anyway]. if you've never seen the firefly series, go buy it today, you'll thank me. and also check out the serenity movie coming to theatres september 30th [unless you're a prescreening bastard of whom i'm extremely jealous, in which case, hi. you're pretty. can you get me some tickets?].

edit: for slashdot readers, the tv.com article that's linked says:

The Sci Fi Channel will air all 15 existing episodes, including the three that never made it to TV

they miscounted the number of episodes which got my hopes until i went back to my discs to check. there are only 15 episodes total [if you count the two-hour pilot as two episodes], not 15 plus 3. for a minute, i thought there were three episodes i hadn't seen. oh well. Matt @ 10:24 PM
