do human clones have souls?
if you know me, you know that i'm not religious, that i don't buy into religious dogma, and that i reject the bible [or any other book] as the word of [a] god. however i was wondering what the religious perspective would be regarding whether or not a cloned human would have a soul [in the way that religion would define a soul]. so i hopped into a christian chat room [yahoo] just now to ask what the general consensus was. i didn't get the answer i was looking for, but the response was amusing enough that i saved the convo. below is the transcript minus room alerts and side conversations. i've also modified yahoo ids to protect morons [you're welcome]. totally reminded me of life of brian.

me: if we figure out how to clone people in the very near future [which to me seems likely], will those cloned people have souls?

me: if somebody is saying they would not have a soul, what would be the reason for that?
