huxley for xbox 360

slated as the first massively multiplayer online first person shooter for the xbox 360, i just came across huxley, and it looks good. first off, when they say massively mutiplayer, they don't mean 16 or even [the new] 50 guys in a game. they mean literally thousands of players in the same gaming environment. that's trick. as taken from ign, here's the storyline:

a post-apocalyptic world where human beings have mutated and are divided into two opposing races, Sapiens and Alternatives. At the center of the battle for survival is Lunarites, a promising new energy source highly coveted by both races. Forced to battle against one another for the continuance of each race, Sapiens and Alternatives will do whatever it takes to wipe out the opposition and gain control of the world and its resources.

produced by newcomer webzen and powered by the unreal 3 engine, huxley has got some strong looking graphics, and if the screenshots are any indication, a good amount of character modeling as well. kijon kang, the lead producer with webzen, had this to say regarding the world within huxley:

The world of Huxley is not the same as ours. It is the world in our near future that both new and degenerate technologies exist together. Fossil energies are exhausted and everything is changed. People fight for new energy sources, and wars never end.

check out teamxbox's whole interview with kang here. for myself, i can definitely picture playing in this darkened, technologically fused world. huxley is shaping up to be the killer post-apocalyptic addition to the already stacked 360 lineup. downside? release date is set for summer of 2006. but for a glimpse of what's to come, here's the trailer.
