kid's got a real xbox360
some kid went online posting in a forum that he had a real xbox360 cuz his stepdad works for microsoft [apparently he's their regulatory compliance manager] and is beta-testing them. yeah, right. well then he started posting pics of himself sitting in his apartment [but without any furniture] playing halo 2 on the 360 with a crappy little tv [yes, the 360 is backwards compatible for at least the bigger xbox titles]. so immediately this blows up into a big thing, and it appears that the kid realizes how stupid it was to shout out to the world his new prize, cuz he starts editing all his posts, deleting the pictures he had posted, and starts alternately claiming that it was really a modded ps2 or else it was photoshopped. he doesn't appear to have made up his mind. many say this is real and the kid is really that stupid. in one comment i saw, someone claimed that certain stores have received mockups of the 360s which are just glued together and it was one of those in the pictures. some even say its a microsoft publicity stunt. who knows. i guess time and the news will tell us all how this plays out, if it does at all.

update: between when i visited the original gamespot thread and now, the thread appears to have been deleted, but it was here. the article linking to the thread is still here but its getting hit hard right now, so you might have to wait and try again later. just in case they get deleted too, i saved all the pics that were posted, and uploaded them here.
