gametype: predator one of the gametypes we made up awhile back which went over really well at the latest halo 2 party is called predator. it's an homage to that classic alien vs arnie movie. i said to myself one day, "who wouldn't want to be predator given the chance?" and thus the gametype was born. this game is better the more people you have. definitely not a head-to-head type. the map to play this on if you haven't already guessed is backwash. backwash all the way. details for it are below. basically, everyone spawns with battle rifle as primary, beam rifle as secondary. weapons on map are human, and there's even a couple machine gun turrets on the map. you can change out your primary weapon, but secondary stays beam rifle. only predator uses the beam rifle, and he can only use that and melee. everyone else can use anything on the map except beam rifle. predator moves faster than normal, is invisible, and has motion sensor. you kill him to become him, and once you are him, then your kills count. first to 10 kills as predator wins. this gametype creates an instant mob effect where you have 15 guys running in a pack around the map looking for the beam rifle's trail or anything to move. makes you paranoid as fuck too; especially when the jungle comes out at you and melees you in the face. with friendly fire off, you've got gunblasts everywhere constantly. a complete and total barrage on the senses is this game. we originally spawned everybody with shotguns but found that predator moves so fast that if you're that close to him, you're already dead. so we went with battle rifles to even out that distance ratio a little bit. one thing you'll find playing this game, if you become predator, its very hard to get more than a single kill at a time, because the moment you go invis, the crowd you were hunting with is now hunting you. so if you manage to slay the great alien hunter, you better start runnin'. everything considered, its a kick ass game, so here it is in case anybody wants to share in the slaughter. match options number of rounds: 1 score to win round: 10 round time limit: none rounds reset map: off resolve ties: on player options max active players: 16 lives round: unlimited respawn time: 5 seconds suicide penalty: 5 seconds shield type: no shields motion sensor: off active camo: off extra damage: off damage resistance: on team options friendly fire: off respawn time modifier: none betrayal penalty: 10 seconds juggernaut options betrayal point loss: off juggernaut extra damage: on juggernaut infinite ammo: on juggernaut overshield: off juggernaut active camo: on juggernaut motion sensor: on juggernaut movement: fast juggernaut damage resistance: on vehicle options vehicle respawn time: map default primary light vehicle: none secondary light vehicle: none primary heavy vehicle: none banshee: off primary turret: large machine gun secondary turret: large machine gun equipment options starting weapon: battle rifle secondary weapon: beam rifle starting grenades: on weapons on map: human weapon respawn time: map default grenades on map: on overshields: off active camoflauge: off for added effect, play the movie predator in the background.
